Ugh. Frustration.

So I get home from my Scholarship work @ Culture Shock Dance Studio, and as soon as I walk in, I’m greeted by my aunt from England - yes, I have family from England. 3 aunts - from my mom’s side - to be exact, and several cousins. Anyways, I know I’d have to give up my room for the time she’s staying here, and I don’t entirely mind because I know she’s family, but I’m just annoyed how it’s all so sudden.

But what really ticked me off is that as my aunt, my mom, and I were eating dinner and my dad was sitting on the couch watching tv, my dad started making these rude remarks about me. Out of nowhere he suddenly begins to interrogate me about my haircut, that I got about 2 1/2 weeks ago, about my glasses, and even about what I’m wearing - a simple tank and sweats. He was asking questions like, “Where did you get your haircut?” “How much was it?” “Why is it like that? Why is one side longer than the other? Did they mess up/forget one side?” Shit like that. And being myself, I never like to be in a situation where I’m just attacked left and right, so I fought back.

It was embarrassing to have to argue back at my dad in front of my aunt, but my aunt knew my dad was trying to annoy me. She even asked me, “Is your dad annoying you, Aaron? Because… He’s annoying me.” It just bothers me how he was suddenly asking these questions when my mom finally came home from being gone for almost a month and a half, and my aunt being there as well. Why the hell didn’t he ask these questions when he first saw my haircut? When I first started wearing these glasses?

Another thing that bothered me is that my mom knew my dad was being annoying, but she told me to stop talking back. I know it’s rude, but what was annoying is that they both always tell me to stand up for myself - to never let anyone step over me like that. So what am I supposed to do when the person who tells me this, suddenly brings me down?

You see where I’m coming from? Someone tell me…

Am I wrong for getting this frustrated and talking back? or am I just being rude/ignorant?
